Mehergarh remained the secretariat and the hub for AASHA(Alliance Against Sexual harassment) over several years. With other AASHA members it succeeded in getting the anti-sexual harassment passed in 2010.

The successful AASHA movement and setting up the precedent of public, private partnership culminates into the passage of anti-sexual harassment legislation, Although Mehergarh has been engaged with systematic legal advocacy around women’s legislation, this success was the impetus to organize the legal and Advocacy Unit as a specialized effort to the draft advocate for pro women legislation.

Bonded labour or slavery is one of the most deploring human rights violations. This program has made major breakthrough in the past. It mostly focuses on the bonded labour in south Sindh where the social hierarchy of major land owners and their poor tenants lead to not only control over their livelihood but also on their livelihoods, movements and every aspects of life.
